Just like postpartum home care, the Doula offers expert care and a calming, reassuring presence in your home. Much of the same care provided in postpartum setting is offered before birth.

Answer questions

Provide Childbirth education. Whether the Doula is your primary educator or you’ve already taken classes, we will continue to share information to best prepare you for birth.

Sort through the seemingly endless choices of newborn gear and help choose the best items for you and your growing family. We tend toward back to basics and generally follow a “less is more” philosophy. Over the years we’ve found that babies do not require a whole lot of “stuff”.

We can offer helpful advice and weigh in about what brands, products, items and gear we as well as what our previous families like and have found works best.

Help organize nursery and/or living space to accommodate baby

Help stock/prepare nourishing foods/meals to store for early postpartum period.

If hospital birth is planned, we go over and make ready what is needed for family for hospital stay.

If home birth is planned, we discuss what is needed/wanted and prepare space accordingly.
