POSTPARTUM CARE

Four hour minimum per visit.

Over the years we have come to deem postpartum care as one of the most important aspects of the care we provide. So much attention and preparation go into labor and delivery, many folks just do not get solid support in place. Birth is a whirlwind! Everybody is excited, months waiting, tons of planning and preparation! Labor KICKS YOUR BUTT, baby arrives, you're feeling both exhausted yet high on the experience. “Baby high” wanes...now what? You’ve probably heard that caring for a newborn at times takes more then you could ever have imagined. Baby nurses 10, 12, often more times in a 24 hour period. Diapering, swaddling, soothing, etc. Managing to shower and feed yourself is epic. We’ve had parents tell us that there were times where they had to choose between getting sleep and eating!

No matter what the birth journey brings, no doubt it will be one of the most exhilarating, challenging life transition experiences you’ve encountered. That is what we are here for.

Breakdown of Care

  • Newborn care: help with bathing, diapering options, baby wearing, sleep practices

  • Nourishing, healing, whole foods meal preparation

  • Organizing baby’s space

  • Sibling care

  • Supportive care of Pets

  • Light housekeeping: Doulas do not clean your house but will tend to essentials to keep things tidy, organized and running smoothly

  • Overnights

Maybe a baby nurse isn’t quite exactly what you want. You know how important it is to learn to read your baby and how essential night time parenting is to that end. But...you really feel you need support for one or more nights to get you on solid ground. When labor and delivery includes complexities and/or surgical procedures or your plan to breastfeed hangs in the balance and overnight care would provide greater support to help troubleshoot and resolve challenges.
